fax machine in China

Can anyone recommend a good fax machine, need to do at least 40 incoming and out going faxes, just bought a Canon FAX JX-200, the jet ink cartridge cost 120.00 rmb and could only print 100 sheets of fax, that more then 1.00 rmb per page.

Buy a laser printer one. Laser printers are substantially cheaper to run.

HP make a bunch of all-in-one ones.
In my office, I use a Xerox industrial strength fax, mostly because I bought it cheap from one of the consulates occasional junk sales.

I still have yet to replace the cartridge, and I've had it for 3 years now.
(Mind you we get about 5 faxes a week on average)

you are correct, but the reason i bought the Canon was because the A-hole sales person said i was going to get 400 to 500 prints per cartridge, would you happen to know which model and brand get less cost per page????

Look at the cartridge prices.

A typical laser cartridge costs 500rmb +-

You get about 5000 pages out of that, and typically can get another 500 more by shaking the cartridge to even the layer of the last bit. This all depends on coverage though. Pages are usually calculated on a 5% coverage rate, which is about average for a page. If you are sending lots of images then coverage goes up.

You can also refill a laser cartridge 1-2 times (I wouldn't go more than that), for about 80rmb. Cost wise, its a total winner.

Canon makes most of the laser printer engines for HP, but HP sells the most printers, so its a toss up which you buy. As long as you stick to a normal brand name, should be fine.

Ask what the cartridges cost when you buy one, and you'll see your average cost price.

These el cheapo fax machines all come with a "starter" cartridge, which gives you about 100 pages to start off. For real usage, you need to buy the more expensive real cartridges, which give you 400-500 pages. Read your owner's manual please!

What about considering a Panasonic fax machine (uses ribbons)? Seems the most cost effective to me for your situation.
