Hi, can somebody help me? I would like to visit Fengjing Town but don't understand the instructions how to get there. In my travel guide it says Fengmei line from The Shanghai Jinjiang Park Metro Station. What is Fengmei line? Bus? Metro? Train? Is this the best way of getting there? How long does it take? How about a taxi?
I've been searching for info in Shanghaiexpat web site and using Google but don't seem to get any wiser
I really appreciate simple instructions

Ah, also this is what it says in their web site:

1. Shanghai Lianfeng Line Through Vehicle. Origin stop: Lianghualu Subway North Square.

2. Shanghai Meifeng Line Through Vehicle. Origin stop: Meilong Southwest Bus Stop.

I just checked ddmap, it says
从地铁1号线(人民广场站)上车,坐10站至(莲花路站)下车,同站换乘转莲枫专线(南方商城站)上车,坐10站至(枫泾牌楼站)下车

Take Metro Line 1 from Renmin Station to Lianhua Lu (10 stops towards south) take a LianFeng Direct Line (I suspect it's a Bus although never mentioned) located at (南方商城站 - South Commercial Station) and another 10 stops and alight at 枫泾牌楼站 Fengjin Pai Lou station.

seems like a terribly far place and may be a trouble for you asking for directions during the interchange, why not ask for a 1 day tour at any travel agency (Spring & Autumn) somtimes it's much convenient and at a resonable price to pay for

I think you have to take a train.

i can tell you how to reach FengJin town.
your travel guide is right,take FengMei line from The Shanghai Jinjiang Park Metro Station,
FengMei mean is FengJin to MeiLong,(MeiLong is the area include Jinjiang Park Metro Station).
FengMei line bus is about 60 kilometers to hit FengJin, 11RMB of tickets, half-hour intervals;
one hour on the trip.
Come out of the subway station ,ask some one where is Feng Mei line,(ask young people or
spectacles will answer you with english:-)
there are 250 to 300 RMB if you take cab only one way,taxi driver has no english.
there are 800 rmb of chartered car ,driver has little english.
