Have been trying to get an idea where to go for long breaks.....It seems there is one coming up early October and out little familly would like to go somewhere nice like Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia....maybe even Bali although I am not sure how long the flight is....I'm looking for a place where I can get all the info on direct flights from Shanghai to these lovely destinations...had a look at the Shanghai Airport website....was not usefull! Any idea anyone where I can find this info? Cheers

You can have a look at cebu pacific or ctrip websites. Then it all depends on what you are looking for. I do believe that local agents can provide you with attractive packages (including hotel and flights), of course depending on the period of time you wish to travel. You won't get the best deals from China during national holidays. Good luck.

You mentioned long breaks, you might consider a multi destination trip, that way if you visit places like Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok you can take advantage of the budget airlines which fly from there. Air Asia, Tiger Airways and Jet Star are very decent and very easy to book online
