Flights Shanghai - Canada

Postby Neroccio » Tue May 10, 2005 2:32 pm

Looking for cheap tickets for a 1 month trip to Canada leaving early July, any recommendations for good agents or airlines to try much appreciated.

Have already tried the obvious ones: Ctrip, Elong and Air Canada...

Thanks

Good luck. Cheep tickets during July and August is an oxymoron of sorts. If you leave before the 30th June should be around RMB8500, after over RMB10,000.

One_Brick_Shy is correct... you are booking for prime tourist season which means the deals will be more difficult to find.

You may want to consider some non-direct routing, through Japan or Korea. If you can find a good fare to HK, then you may be able to take advantage of some the specials that are run through there. Depending on what part of Canada you are going to, you may also want to look at routing west-to-east... I remember Air France had a great deal last summer as did Aeroflot.

thanks for the advice -ended up having to pay double the price for flights for July compared to what it would cost to go in may-june... will plan further ahead to take advantage of low season prices next time!

Try booking with China Eastern. Last July I came from Vancouver to Shanghai with them. They use new A340-600 aircraft that are very comfy. I paid ~$1300 for my ticket, albeit in Canada.

If you can leave before the end of June (say 28th or 29th) will cost you about CNY8250 (incl tax of CNY800) return into Toronto with Air Canada. Go to elong.com. They have Chinese and English languages as well as an office in SH. Will deliver the tickets to your door if you pay by credit or debit card for CNY20. Bonus--you can also collect your Aeroplan miles :)
