Gaming Situation in Shanghai?

Postby Capricious » Tue Aug 28, 2007 10:55 pm

Just wondering what the video game/system situation is like in China, I am assuming it is pretty good. Here in Thailand it's impossible to buy a system or game that isn't modded or chipped (not that I am complaining ^^). Basically, PS2 is still the prevalent system here and it's very diffiult to get a PS3 or a XBOX360 (which I still have yet to see anywhere here).

So what's the deal in Shanghai? What systems are easy to come by, are they modded, are games legit or copies?

360's, PS3, PSP and Wii all easy to buy, although at a price, mostly chipped(apart from PS3) and copied games all over the place, some original games for the 360 and PS3 costaround 4-500rmb a game.

Try the game shop on Beijing lu/Jiaozhou lu, or the electronics market in Xujiahuai.

I have unchipped US WII and no chance to buy a game for it here. Visited real game wendors but all was for JP WII. So I am stucked with the Golf and Tennis games, but I do not complain those games was reason why I bought the WII.

If you need original US games you can use Amazon.com and get them shipped. It's pricey of course.
