Sure, so go to some of the mixers that this site hosts, it's easy to meet people there, as easy as being in a German pub.

You may know by now, German's are one of the largest expat populations in Shanghai thanks to Volkswagen, Siemens, BMW, Continental, etc., I just don't know where they hide at night.
