My first post, but I don't like the term 'newbie', I prefer semi-virgin. Anyway, enough about me.
I will be moving to Shanghai (Pudong) early next year... blah, blah, blah, just like everyone else posting in the Relo forum....

Now to the point: My company recommended "Boswell Realty" Mr. Bill Zo.
Anyone hear anything good or bad about this company or agent?
Please be nice, respectful and brutally honest.

Never heard of the company. There are literally hundreds of real estate companies and your best bet is to look through the forum to seeif there are any recommendations, and then look some of these places up and meet with their reps when you arrive. the difference between a good agency and a bad one can make or break your initial expereince, though admittedly, it may be a baptism by fire that realy helps make the rest of your stay enjoyable. Personally i would use several firms to look for me and work with the one i like best. No loyalty necessary when looking for a hime, you just want the best choice and the pest agency to work hard for you. The larger agencies specializing in relocation will charge an arm and a leg but they typically get things right, but your rents will be accordingly higher than true market rate. Small local companies need to be referred to you and if you find a good agent, they will actually work for you.

Thank you, Yu (that sounded funny). I appreciate your insight and have read many of your posts on the board. Moving to PVG is a bit intimidating and I appreciate everyones input (after mucking through the bullfeces). I figured I would take a shot and see if anyone new of Bill or the Agency.

Will follow your advice and use a few of them. PM me if you have any recommendations on the agencies that offer the best value. I am planning a house and school hunting trip (no weapons) between Xmas and New Years.
BTW- Where in Shanghai is the best place to celebrate on Dec 31?
