Looking to join a gym/health club when I come to Shanghai in a few weeks. Any suggestions? I belong to 24 hour fitness here in the States and they belong to a program run by ihrsa for travelers

I go to Fitness First (the one at Plaza 66).

It is fine. One of the better gyms around Shanghai. Clean. Good selection of free weights. Reasonably clued up and friendly staff. Location is different to that shown on the site though. Street address is correct, but map is wrong (real location is north and west of there).

No idea what it costs if joining under the IHRSA program. Without the program a 1 year membership normally costs around 4k RMB while single visits are 100 RMB. That might give you a reference to see if they are really offering you a discounted deal.
