i want to get away from cities and to somewhere to be around nature and to be relatively healthy (food etc). i've found lots of places in thailand but has anyone been somewhere they liked in china? i'm not finding anything.

ningbo... very nice and natural... loads of waterways, sea, mountains and the city is nice, modern... and clean. ningbo is south of shanghai (~550km) on the coast, around 4hrs by fast train... also there is a venice spa hotel... although its just a few km's from the CBD, still easy taxi ride or if you feel like the walk, then it's very nice. very few laowais stay there, but i have stayed there each time i have been and i prefer it to most hotels. really good service though speaking chinese is a real plus as most staff know no more than a few simple words like hello... etc.
