uh right. Not all Chinese food as MSG, though certainly a lot of it does.

MSG does counteract Calcium Channel blockers used to reduce blood pressure however. But more than likely it would contibute to one becoming obese rather than via heart issues.

Otherwise, the heart will eventually stop beating on its own, at a time where you don't want it to.

Happens to me all the time, for maybe 8 years. Cardiologist at home always writes for scripts for stuff, never use them.

Things that make it beat irregular are Chocolate, Coffee, soda - cola, Caffine, and too much sugar. But stress also plays a part. No joke HOLDING my number 1 girlfriend also makes it beat funny, only because I know she's the one I truly love. (and I will never see her again soon.)

To correct it you should avoid what I just mentioned and probably take those beta blockers that docs like to hand out. I never take them but I do always take that bottle of nitroquick with me.

Some days my heartbeat goes absolutely wild. No reason. Loud enough for me to hear it. But I welcome death.

First off...see a doc.

Second: You might try reducing your nicotine if you are a smoker, and reducing your caffeine intake.

Third: You can try lying down and deep breathing. Breathe in for 5 seconds, hold breath for 5 seconds, then breathe out for 5 seconds. Do this for about 5 minutes a day. This may help.

Lastly: Try filling the sink with frosty cold water and then puttin your face quickly into it. May help with the Diver's Reflex and steady your heart rate. Hope that helps and that you are doing better.

I take Betaloc 50 mg twice a day and Bayspirin Protect 100 eneteric coated aspirin to reduce plateclot clotting on advice.

That may reduce your very disturbing Heart jumps. Betaloc controls my tachycardia (Genetic, thanks Mum) and it's quite cheap. I'm not obese : 179 cm, 80 kg.

In the Chinese supermarkets there are whopping big 'industrial sized' bags of MSG. That's an indication right there on how much of the stuff is actually used.

I agree, hands up who has gained weight or had to fight it since coming to China? I've lost about 8kgs since I left Shanghai and still dropping...

There's a new thingo they can put in the heart to stop this happening. Saw it on telly recently.

Just keep the stress levels down and you will be fine.

Arrhythmia is pretty frequent but also very scary. I feel like one of these days my heart just won't go back to normal.

However I agree. When I get more than a cup of coffee or a Coke, or too much tea, my heart goes bezerk.

Also you need regular cardio excercise, keep the heart strong. I don't do this, but I know I should.
