Hello, some fashion help from ladies here! :)

Postby kakaka » Wed Feb 01, 2012 10:56 am

I am going abroad soon to start my study in Europe and US.

Can ladies here share with me that if you wanna buy a party / going out dress, which website abroad do you recommend? Do you have some fashion/girls bbs forum abroad to recommend, to discuss about the dresses, cosmetics, etc?

You know, I am not looking for the first-tier stuff...since when you go out, you wanna change your dress every time. So best it could be shiny and cheap and hot!

Thanks for your help~

In my opinion fashion is not nearly as important in the rest of the world as it is in shanghai.
Personally i generally go to factory outlet stores, never really bought clothes online (how do you know if you will look good in it or not?).

depends on the occassion.
When you go to cocktail, business networking, or any events like that, you want to dress classy. When you go clubbing, you want to dress hot. When you go to friends' house party, you just want to dress jeans and shirts. Check out one of my friends' brand shop: palacio.taobao.com. it was started by a group of business school girls in US

Thanks for your comments! Actually I am trying to look for popular online stores for hot clubbing dresses. Any recommendations? Of course not taobao, since I am going to buy them overseas~

Online shop now? why don't buy when you get there?
if you want to buy cheap ones, then forever21, charlotte russe, H&M in the US, secretly: Macy's junior section also fits well for asian girls :)

not sure about Europe, but tally-weijl is one of my favorites

In the US: Victoria Secret website has tons of going out clothes (reasonably priced). Typically you can get good stuff at Macy's or Dillards (in the malls), they always have stuff on sale so you can save money. If you you are in a city with Nordstroms Rack you can also go and but there good stuff at reduced price.
Brands like Bebe or BCBG have great stuff yo go out.
Honestly is better to go to a mall than to order online.

Nordstrom rack's collection is a bit formal. Classy style but not sexy, They have lots of gown tho.

please dont make the mistake of buying something because you think its fashionable. theres nothing worse than seeing a lady in ill fitting outfits or something that she's uncomfortable in.truth is, the guys your probably trying to impress with your fashion garms, will be astute enough to pick up on your 'out of your skin' rigmorale.
stick to what suits you and most importantly what you feel comfortable wearing. nothing is sexier than confidence...and ive never seen that in a lady wearing fashionable high high high heels, like she's doing a tight rope walk across 2 mountains without a safety net and balancing beam. while she's drunk. and had a cocaine overdose the night before.

thats my 2 cents worth. and yes im sexy.
If you reach for the stars. you just might touch me. maybe.

Just wear a skin tight blue dress with a red underwear on top of your trouser.

In America, H&M. If it's good enough for Portman and Williams, it's good enough for me.

I passed by that Nanjing east road and henan road quite often, and saw that pre-open poster of Forever21. Any one knows when it's gonna open? quite happy to see they finally have a shop here. I'm a big fan of it, though I'm seriously over aged. haha

You can go ebay and taobao(if the shop owner has willing ship to your place), but buying clothing online is a big challange; even through the model wear well but always seem different while you wear.

Some import brand is cheaper than China, for exsample, ZARA, H&M, MANGO, or Guess, especially when they are on sales, you really don't need to find the website to buy them.

I love their 'summer' dresses to wear on the weekends. I wonder how overpriced are they going to be in China.
