Their website looks great and professional and I was assigned with an agent named Jessie to secure an apartment. They have lots of ads on SmartShanghai but we quickly realized that all of them in fact did not exist.
Three days ago we started to visit apartments and there was this really nice place that we wanted to move into so we proposed a price that we were hoping Jessie would discuss with the landlord. Normally, the agent would contact us with a counter offer or at least inform us that the landlord is not accepting the offer. However, we haven't heard anything. We have tried reaching out to her several times by phone and email but heard nothing back.
So if you are looking for a professional agent, beware don't contact HomeChannel.
1. Thanks for the advertising. I still believe
http://www.homechannel.com.cn is one of the best real estate website by the moment in sh. Thats why u found the apt u like on the website and it was available isnt it? Every pic on the website is real. The truth is nowadays the places are taken really quickly. Like the one u liked. Its taken right the day after u visited.
2. There is actually some misunderstanding. Firstly. The last price was 9000RMB without invoice and no change of the furniture, This was told the buttom price and condition landlord could accept. I believe ur offer was 8000RMB plus 7 months contract. Plus a new TV. I didnt refuse directly to be polite then i also hinted many times that landlord does not do short term lease. Normally people get it. Right after u were recommended another apt. The only one landlord might accept short term lease around that price. Unluckly u said u didnt like it. Then u asked did u have any other places to show? we didnt have, so didnt send u any more. But isnt that obvious that ur offer was refused or not intersting at all for landlord? and as u were also asking other available places. it makes even more clear.
3. Maybe there is the culture misunderstanding about being polite and refuse in a polite way and just saying no, ur offer is too low and too short term, landlord does not care about ur offer at all. But it has nothing to do with professional or not.I still think its not that big culture Shock. Most of the people get that kind of polite way to refuse even if they are totally new here.
4.Normally people dont do this on this kind of forum, people complain directly to manager or the company. Especially when u dont even contact that agent neither the manager about this, Isnt there any other purpose?
5.FYI. We have come across terrible client or landlord as well. We have our black List as well.
But we dont do personal attack or anything like that on website. Not even to talk about when there is just some small misunderstanding plus without trying to figure it out personally.
