Postby bernace_03 » Tue Jul 11, 2006 9:11 am

Hi there... everyone... I have booked ticket going to Hongkong air fair and hotel. My question is do we need to book for a ticket in Hongkong Disneyland or we can just buy ticket direct in the disneyland if we already arrived HK? Or i can reserved ticket to disneyland to dragonair where I book my airfair and hotel going to HK? Thanks

Hi! Regarding Hong Kong Packages, it makes sense to buy a package with Dragon Air Holidays (www.kaholidays.com). This is often not much more expensive than the airfare alone on Dragon Air, and you get 2 nights accommodation and transfers free! They will also add on Disneyland tickets, and it is essential that you pre-book and pay for them, as they are often sold out. Check the website first, then call Classic Travel in Shanghai to book for you! 21 64160808 ask for Monica Fairley (Australian). email monica@classictravel.net.cn

Not true that tix are sold out often; they are not getting anough people there. Depends when you want to go. Personally I would NEVER go when thousands of people go (weekends and China holidays).

With 3 young (8,6,4) in tow, I arrives first thing, go on the weekday, I was able to have a relaxing day and do all of Disneyland in one day. Today, my dd (dear daughter) was reminiscing about the wonderful slide at the pool at the more expensive hotel there (you can probably stay at the less expensive hotel there and 10 min walk over)... Disneyland direct has some promotion going on (small gift).

As for the package...it might be worthwhile looking into.

HK disneyland is soooooo small. Only one major ride, space mountain. The rest are kiddy ride for 6 yrs old. It is about one eigth the size of disneyland in LA. I went there in April and finished the whole place in two hours(honestly). It cost the same price as disney in LA.

Depends on your audience. My kids love the fact that they could go on Buzzlight Year (kids and adult ride) 5 times in a row. And I love the fact that there were no lines (no waiting time). Disneyland is NOT a thrill rides park....it is a special park, more imagination.

I hope you did not miss things like the character meet and greets, the parade or the live shows. Because if you did the park in 2 hours, you must have missed those fabulous things.

The Lion King in SH is over $500 per tix. The show is 45min in Disney, probably similar to the SH play and is part of the admission tix. If you had to pay $100 for the 45min show, it is one of the 2 live shows there.

A single day tix at Disney LA is $59/49. The HK Disneyland tix is about $38/27 (adult/children).

The 'helpful' travel agent Monica is talking rubbish about tickets often being sold out. Apparently sales have been extremely disappointing. So much hype about Hong Kong Disney, so much taxpayer money got diverted into the thing, and it hasn't delivered half of what was promised.

Still her packages may be good value so check them out - just treat her advice with caution.
Naturally, I finished my set. . .

Yes, like Mcdonalds is a special place where children can dream and have their imaginations stimulated. . .

Kiwi, I don't think you are their target audience....Disneyland is for kids (and kids of all ages). My kids love it. And maybe I should have used the word 'different' not special.
