not deal with Unicom but should be same as China Mobile. Get someone who speak Chinese to go with you and just ask them to add it to service. Husband get message each week from China Mobile with balance and think Unicom will do same thing.

Try ringing 10011 and selecting option 2 for English. I think that's the number.

u can also go to 10010.com and login using ur # & password.

this is how i check my monthly bill, remaining balance, internet usage, SMS sent, etc.

finally figured this thing out on China Unicom

send a text to 10010:
YE - to check available balance
XYED - to check credit line
CXJF - integral check
JFJL - payment records
OTADYHF - your monthly fees (data packages etc.)

what does it mean when your calls fail, your txts fail and you can't check your balance? i think my balance is fine, but i thought even if you fell below the minimum you could still phone 10010 and/or 10011. those are failing, too, even though i have a good signal and "3g" is showing.

never mind. phone's jumping between 3g, no 3g and no service at all. i've reseated the sim card, rebooted the phone and i suspect something's up w/the service or the sim card.
