I lost I-94 card !!

Just like it says.. a forum for discussion of these things.

I lost I-94 card !!

Postby namse » Sat Mar 08, 2008 1:20 pm

I lost my I-94 card that I got from the immigration officer when I entered USA so could not return it during my departure however I did not overstay. Now I am planning to pay a visit to USA again with the same visa since it is still valid but I am worried too much about it.

Will the immigration officer at the port of entry reject my entry or ask me for more documents of proof?

As to documents I have nothing more than the ticket I used then to travel and stamps on my passport for departure and entry in Shanghai.

Can you please share your experience if you have ever gone through such situations or know about it?

Thanks in advance !!

Why don't you try calling the US consulate and ask them? I doubt any of the expats on the forum has been in a similar situation.

Thanks for your quick comment.

Yes, I did but it was real surprise to me to know that they do not deal with such things. They just advised to contact Kentucky office. I sent required docs to them as well but never got any response back.

Just getting frustrated with the situation as my flight date is approaching ......

yes, the US consulate staff canbe rather abrupt when it comes to dealing with these issues as they say thats a DHS issue/ Good luck./

Wouldn't everything be recorded on computer and be in some government dept in the States? Which department issued it and whereabouts? I'd be on the phone to them to try to sort it out. Try and get some form of correspondence going so that you have written doucmentation in case there are dramas. Yu888 is right. Consulates don't generally handle these things and they can have a bit of an "attitude".
