some local Lawson's in more expat filled areas do carry smallbags of ice.

Mealbay, the delivery service, delivers 2.5kg and 5kg bags of ice, and their operators speak english. 5158-0168

Thanks for your replies! I just ordered them from Xiaodeice. The price for 5 KG is 15 rmb... delivery charge is 20 RMB! But seems that they only have chinese support available

Metro and City both sell bags of ice cubes. I don't remember the price but it was not unreasonable. It is quite easy to make them yourself - do you need a recipe?

actually melted down the ice to do a TDS test once (out of curiosity) and found at least the brand I bought from Lawsons was filtered water, reading 14ppm total dissolved solids. hoping those pares per million were not mercury or arsenic or something ..:S but seriously, that makes it pretty safe. Of course i dont test every batch so I am uncertain.
