Ipad / Ipad 2 tethering to Android phones in Shanghai

Postby bronxking » Fri Apr 01, 2011 9:33 pm

Hi,

I am about to get my hands on a WIFI only IPad 2 and was wondering whether any of the 3G Android phones sold in Shanghai support tethering as similar ones do in the U.S. This will be my first IPad, and I don't use any 3G phone currently in Shanghai, but may be prompted to get one if it tethers to my IPad 2.

I hear that China Unicom is the way to go for 3G services. True?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, Unicom is good with 3G and to get tethering done you will need if not mistaken at least Android 2.1. Comes as an application at least in my vanilla Nexus One (not sure if the same is true with other phones were operators put crapware on).

Good luck and tell us how it goes...

From one week ago I cannot do tethering using my China Unicom 3G data plan and my blackberry (its not a BB data plan, its a normal one). I have been doing it for the last 2 years with no problem...
