I saw a guy a couple of days ago with an Ipad. He looked like he thought he was cool with a slimline touchscreen gadget. In reality he looked like a cross between a knob with a massive touch screen phone that couldn't make any phone calls and a knob with a laptop that couldn't connect to anything.
It is a stepping stone gadget, anyone who buys now is stupid if they do not think they are a lab rat.

I bought this iPad a little over a month ago and have only used it a handful of times. There is not a NOTHING wrong with this iPad, in fact its practically brand new.

Hey, I'm selling my 16GB iPad that I bought a few days ago. I have found that I need something else for my uses.

Obviously it hasn't been used much. It works great and it's everything you expect it to be! I wouldn't sell it except I need the money for a wedding.

I bought it and used it for a couple of hours at most.

My husband and I bought this one month ago from our local Apple Retailer; it is in PERFECT condition. We LOVE it, but we got our new laptop.

This is an ABSOLUTELY MINT iPad. It has been touched about 3 times - Not a scratch of any sort on it.

Yup, i be fat, selfish and stupid.

I've never been a big fan of Apple, stuck to using a PC, but after the iphone I have not become hooked but i am more open to buying their products. (Yes i know google andriod fans will point out the flaws in iphones.

I was in an airport lounge last week and watched someone get out a notebook, do some work, then get out a sony ereader. On my ipad, i sent a few e-mails, watched the tail end of the golf(live), then finished a chapter of a book. Yes there will be better products that come along but for the moment it suits me.

^:) Mat can confirm I'm not a poser.

It's one of those things I bought for two reasons; because I could and because the wife said I shouldn't.

I'm finding I use the notebook less than I was and in reality most of the things I was using it for I could either do on the iPhone or Blackberry, the notebook was reserved for things requiring a bigger screen or the DVD drive. Anything serious, then I would use the desktop.

I was gonna buy an ipad. I dont have an iphone and thought an ipad would suit me in the same ways that GC mentioned above.
Now I am rethinking, cause what the other dudes wrote. And I do not want to look like posey person at the airport... if I can only use an (my) ipad at home, like some dirty little secret, what is the point.

Do you skype on it? . I disliked skype for a number of years but found it got better (clarity) in the past year so now would love to have video chats in transit.

They, the professionals, reckon it does don't have the processing capabilities for decent quality video chats.

As for posing, the problem is that it's like a big mobile phone and as such you are going to hold it in such a way that's noticeable to others. I've not bought a holder for it but my mate has one that looks like a book cover and doubles as a stand when watching videos.

Just bought a Dell mini laptop. Does more than an iPad, was cheaper and comes with a 3 year international warranty. Can watch movies for about five hours on the battery.

I am yet to find a single convincing reason why a person would choose an Ipad over the capabalities of mini laptops. But in saying that, each to their own I guess.

But i'm an engineer, not a politician or a salesguy, so I like technology and I dislike marketing.
Apparently, the facts&figures show a technological lag for the Apple products.
And I fully admit: the others have a huge marketing lag. But I don't care too much about that.
Maybe I just hate marketing ?

I certainly feel sheer pity for the victims of the Apple religion. But I do not hate them.

I am a fan of Apple, but I don't own an ipad, mainly because I don't see what it can do that I can't already do with my laptop and iphone...That being said, I don't understand this argument about ipad being so bad. Guys, we really need to move beyond just looking at technology's functionality, and more to objects that look good, designed and that we want to have around. I don't see what's wrong with someone wanting to carry an ipad because it looks better than an kindle. It's definitely about marketing, but also great product design.

I use a notebook for work, PLC and HMI software, but other than that the notebook is only used to check emails and surf the Internet. The wife bought a new mini notebook(not a net book) a few months ago and although quite powerful she also only uses it for the Internet, oh and translation software, and it doesn't have a DVD drive.

We've established that owning one and using it in public appears to be uncool therefore why not look at the benefits. Compact size, lightweight, long battery life, ereader, maps, games, wireless, 3G, thousands of applications.

Show me 27" IPS monitor that is bellow 1999$ mark, iMac has 27" IPS matrix with LED backlight. For now STFU and GTFO. Nec has 26" IPS monitor with old backlight sold for 2199$. So basicly with 27" iMac you get best 27" IPS panel available + Core i7 PC with 4Gb RAM and Radeon HD5850.

I myself bought iMac 27" but with i5 and HD5670 to use as an externel monitor for my Mac Pro.

A lot of people like good design, but not at the expense of functionality, and not if the price is hugely inflated.

No LED backlight and made from cheap plastic. And did you saw part of my post about "free" PC that come with iMac with i7 @3Ghz 4GB RAM and HD5850@1GB?

Dell with Alienware can still GTFO... at least for a while.

And when I was looking for new display, there was only NEC 26" IPS model on the market. So I went with iMac as display. :D

And show me Platform, that is capable of running two 6-cores Xenon processors withup to 18Gb RAM at 2499$ point, I can't remember anything beside Mac Pro. Yeah, you get only one 6-core CPU at this price and 8Gb of RAM. But you can buy 1 more CPU for ~300USD and as much RAM as you wish.
