Hey everyone,

So on Saturday I absent mindedly inserted my Sim card tray into my iPhone 3G the wrong way round and it got stuck. I took it to the Apple store in Nanjing Dong Lu and they had a look at it but brought it back and said that I had already broken a couple of the contacts off and that they couldn't fix it because they only had iPhone 4 components at Apple in China.

So now I'm left with something that is broken but shouldn't be too difficult to fix by a tech-savvy person.

My question is- are there any places people can recommend in Shanghai for repairs, especially Phone repairs?

If I was in the UK i'd probably order the part and replace it myself but I wouldn't know where to start looking for something that specific here in China.

I'd imagine the Metro Mall or the computer mall on Huai Hai Rd/Xicang Rd intersection would have repair shops.

But there is a building near the Metro Mall that have businesses that fix cell phones, computers, etc. Walk out of the Metro Mall and head south (turn left) on Heng Shan Road. Look to the left immediately after the Metro Mall and the building is a little bit back away from Heng Shan Road. The front is the entrance to another computer mall (which coincidentally is where most of the vendors from Metro Mall run to to buy parts at wholesale price), walk around to the side and look for an entrance area with elevators. Can't remember which floor it was on, but there was a "store" there that fixed and sold Apple products. I do remember it was above the 10th floor.

xiang yang / fixing lu, 3rd floor. a few places can fix for you for reasonable prices.
should be less than 200 assuming its just the tray connector.
