"China doesn't have classical love hotels like Japan or Singapore. Motel 168 is a new chain of budget hotels, similar to Jin Jiang Inn's etc.

Compared to other chinese business hotels (where all the things mentioned above will happen too), the rooms of Motel 168 and JJ Inn are usually clean, you get free internet and they mostly don't have that thick ten years old dirty carpet.

Of course, due to mostly convinient locations and price, young chinese couples use it for some private affairs too. However look into any other hotel after midnight, and you see red headed men (too much drinks) with young girls rushing to the lift too.

So, for budget travellers, 168 and JJ Inn are certainly good alternatives. I hope they will spread further across china."
