Longest time at-a-time in SH?

What's the longest you have stayed in Shanghai without leaving?
I am running on 9 months. And i think i am going mad.

A lot of my departures from Shanghai are domestic China trips. I've probably averaged about three international departures per year, but not always evenly spread.

Return at Christmas time has been mandatory for me since I arrived.

We're usually here from July/August until June. Not quite a full year. I find that towards the end I'm happy because I get a break, but yeah, around the 9 month mark I'm close to going stark raving mad.

I meant monkey trap as in the device used to trap monkeys. The monkey reaches in to get the apple, the hole of the trap is not large enough for it to pull the apple out, so as long as the monkey holds onto the apple it is stuck. Shanghai is the same thing.

6 months.. and my mum didnt really want me to go home but just stay there till the summer.. but i would have actually gone insane. Luckily she let me go home for a month ... it was needed... if i didnt go home for that month i think i would have self destruct.

The last time I left Shanghai was just before the October Golden Holiday week when I trekked to Thailand. That would mean I've been here during this stint for almost two months. I leave again for Oz in about two weeks.

I was born in Shanghai and left when I was 9 and ever since then, I have only been back to Shanghai for 2 months or less at a time :-?

Well, Anting is technically still within Shanghai, but no KunShan or Suzhou even. Thinking an escape to witch mountain

..or barring that, MoGan Shan would be ok.

Shanghai is like New York City in that respect. The place is such a churning and burning grind-house that anything over three months GETS ON YOUR NERVES!!!! Go on a vaca yu888.

OMG! And what a dramatical end to the 11 months that was...and I was all kinds of rebuking you for your little incident on my high horse and then turned around and did the very same thing like a few weeks later.
