Postby gigipedrazam » Mon Dec 13, 2004 9:10 am

I will be relocating to Shanghai in January-February... I visited the city for the first time last week and although in several websites I have seen 2 bedroom apartments between $700-$3500; everything that the real estate agent showed me cost around $5000!!!! Can you help me understand what happened? I am looking for a 2 bedroom apartment in downtown with a lofty looks. if possible brick walls, hardwood floors, high ceilings and lots of light. Does not have to be serviced.

Thanks!!

Dear Gigipedrazam:

I understand your frustration. It is not easy when relocation to another country, especially if you did not get what you were supposed to get.

My name is Cyril. I come from France and grew up in the States. I work for a company specialized in residential relocation, named Joanna Real Estate. Before visiting residences with our clients, we always send a detailed property listing of the available residences. In that way, there is no catch. You know beforehand what you are going to visit and at what price.

We offer properties from USD1000+.

Furtheremore, we offer airport pick-up, orientation, admin. assistance, after-sales service and all these services are for free. Again, there is no catch since we do not charge the client for this.

If you require further info, feel free to contact me at cyril@joannarealestate.com.cn.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Happy New Year!

Hi Gigipedrazam,

I recently went through a search for apartments. Best thing is to give your agent as many specifics to work with up-front (budget, location, facilities, etc) and let him/her know which are more important to you.

I was looking in the range of US$1500 to US$2000/month and finally settled on a newly renovated 2-bedroom (plus study) apartment in an older building near Remin Park.

Good luck!

Hi again Gigipedrazam:

I agree with Farang when he talks about the different criterias required to narrow-down the house search.

That is why we ask our clients to fill in a questionnaire with questions relating to their housing and orientation requirements.

This enables us to offer a more personalized search to our clients.

If you would like me to email you this questionnaire and/or if you require further information, then please contact me at cyril@joannarealestate.com.cn

Happy Holidays!
