Looking for a Good Leather Tailor

Postby WondererWanderer » Wed Nov 12, 2008 3:52 pm

HI
Does anyone know of a leather tailor with good workmanship? I have a rather sturdy leather jacket but needs taking in a little (need to shorten the arms a little and perhaps a little at the waist). Paid too much for the jacket, so would hate to see it botched up with shoddy tailoring. Am also looking at perhaps getting another jacket made. Any suggestions?

Cheers

not sure about who to see for alterations, but for your new jacket, you could try the gal on the 2nd floor of the South Bund Spinning Fabric market. Get off the escalator, straight a bit, and she's on your left. One of the few leather stalls there, so I don't think you'd miss it (sort of on a corner). I haven't used her yet, but one of my visitors had 2 leather coats made there and both turned out perfectly. He's an ex-footballer (american football) and was surpised she could fit his frame so well.

I'm having the same problem! Someone bought me a leather jacket that's too big in the shoulders. I saw another leather stall on the 1st floor of the fabric market this weekend, and figured I'd take mine there. Post again if you do end up getting it done!

Have you used them? Did they do a good job? That's right near my place, so that would be awesome.

Hmm, that's not too far away from me either. Yeah, have you, or someone you know used them? Might head down and check em out!
Will follow up on MimiRocks' suggestion too.

Thanks
