Postby renaur » Tue Oct 27, 2009 12:11 pm

Hi

I'm looking for a apartment and office at Xujiahui. Wonder if someone could help me with the following:

a) any reliable rental agents for recommendation
b) which are the apartments that are nearby shanghai singapore international school, Xuhu campus)
c) any reliable aiyi agency for recommendation

Thank you.

there are a lot of agencies aside the roads.
as long as you pick the big one which has long history and good experience, it will be ok, such as, too many, i couldnot say the names out right now..., if you need, i can give you some with good reputation after checking ...
also, you can search online,
choose big ones to reduce the trouble of all (eg. scam) .....
good luck

eveprirose: Sorry, actually disagree. Whether you go with large agency, or small, you should go with one recommended, and the smaller ones are often more accountable, and will give a more personal service.
Also searching on line, can get you a fun time searching places that no longer exist, or are out of date and sold a long time ago. Good waste of time. (generally).

For a good Ayi, seems the best way is "word of mouth". There are often recommended Ayi's on this site available from members.

yes, maybe that is right,
based on the experience from you , and especially for those 1st time in China or in Shanghai,
i took it for granted since i have a good understanding about everything here, i can judge and choose and nego even,
while which (may) be hard for you guys,
and moreover we have different taste and different life-style for whatever ...
i may missed so much since i m too pure Chinese ...
anyway, thanks and good luck ~ i m sorry if i mis-led any.

also we did not have good experiences with larger real estate agency firms. though we are not the top top top end of customers (by means of budget), we did have a sizable 30k to spend. especially the company that starts wit "J" and ends on "RE" (yes, an acronym...) was particularly bad. terrible service, unfriendly staff, completely unprepared and very bad suggestions/proposals.

while living in SHA, i always rented through small agency or one-man/woman-outfits. never disappointed. search this site, there is one real estate agent contributing here who comes highly recommended. her name is "adrienne".
