Looking for tutor to practice my mandarin with

Postby asl33p123 » Mon Mar 01, 2010 1:54 pm

Hi

I'm originally from Canada, although parents are from HK, so I have background in Chinese words, although my pronounciation in Mandarin is off. Anyways, I'm looking for a tutor to help me improve Mandarin. I'd like to ideally practice 2-3 times a week during weeknights or weekends.

I guess my budget would be around the 35-40rmb/hr range. I may not be able to find a "professional" tutor, but even just a University student is fine for me, as I can get my meaning across in Mandarin. I just need to improve that and converse more.

I heard that finding a University student is cheaper and may be possibly easier? I asked my real estate agent about this, she suggested I go to University forums...but that didn't appeal to me because that sounds creepy :p

If anybody has any recommendations, comments, or experiences, please let me know.

If someone is making actual posts expressing their interest, you might want to private message me instead of publicly posting as the moderators will probably delete your posts :)

Cheers

Hi there,

I can help out!

I'm a Chinese who lived in New Zealand for almost 9 years, returned to China in 2008. I'm fluent in both Mandarin and English, and had some language teaching experience. I helped a friend (NZ born Chinese) in Hong Kong before as well. My background is in Banking and IT. As I'm in between contracts at the moment, I'll have flexible time schedule and not in it for free English lessons;)
I'll send you my contact details in a private message.
Look forward to getting in touch.

Cheers.
