As some one has already mentioned Chinese certainly do not fight without any reason...and my one decade long experience in china says those whities act like owner of the CITY and that behaviour just scuks...it is quite disgusting indeed specially when they just approach the girls w/o aware of being her boy friend, brother and other friends around with ill minded that all chinese gurls are bitches and they can screw them on the spot....WTF..

Marakanis: Just use "bu yao" if you don't want something. "buyong xie" is like "You are welcome" or litterally "No need to say thanks", ie use that when someone says thank you to you.

To all: I still stand by my word "Takes 2 to tango", there are bad examples when the foreigners do something that really deserves a good beating and there are also examples of where Chinese act really stupid.

Hm... Well ofc buyao, xiexie works as well. But I asked my gf earlier about it, since I wanted to say something closer to "No, thanks" but actually "Buyao" is not seen as rude at all.

You, as an foreigner, as a guest here (always ) and therefore seems more appropriate to add "thanks". Locals, especially from the villages, do not say that. However, your behaviour, your speech and clothing - is a mirror in which you will see the relevance to themselves.

Be polite. It's better this way. I always say 'xie xie ni' - it's not necessary, overly polite, but it doesn't hurt to say it.

Well, I still add the thanks since I am so used to it from English but I just wanted to point out that not adding it is not seen as rude. If you add ofc you will be showing that you are polite.

Just forget about bars, and ok. Locals think (and not without any base) that if China really received some import of "garbage people", all of them are concentrate in a bars.

I was there last night from 10:30 p.m to 3 a.m, but didn't see any fight.

yupp there are alot of dickhead foreigners here many french & americans acctually.
but it really consernes me that there is a growing hate against us. because i feel that when i go out i often get along really well with chinese, even the hiphoper guys. im a really social person somewhat like a social chameleon. can adapt to many diffrent people.
anyway what i mean is that it really sucks that you might get generalized if the assholes dont stop and there wont come more of them..

nothing to do. but act well and nice to show the opposite.

Generalizations are unavoidable but you're living proof that generalizations do not make or break our personal relations with others.

This is proof that bacon sandwich is better off staying at home and eating himself. The good news is that his "fight or flight" response seems well calibrated enough to avoid fights. He deserves praise for this.

If you ever been on a dance floor with a girl? You will realize you have to still protect her rear from sexual predators. I see white guys and Indian guys literally checking my girl out while I'm dancing with her! I see 2 Chinese old geezers trying to approach my girl and grind on her while I'm dancing with her. Seriously its no wonder fights break out! They are like blind! Its like they can't see who is obviously taken already.

What i really hate is when my freinds make me the one to protect the freinds(girls) who want to dance. I have to orbit around the these girls like a shield fending off sexual predators. And they really do come around in all directions! It also oddly makes me look like I own all these girls because some guy whispered in my ear saying "All these girls, You're the man!" Yeah... I'm just their body guard.

Anyways I think most of these guys read too many pick up artist books. And they probably read them wrongly too. They got confused where they book actually told them to become a manly man but they became an abusive man. They take it too far by being too aggresive......

Just reminiscing actually, i remember once when i was in guandii there was an american guy continually annoying/chatting up a chinese girl, she brushed him off politely, and then he turn round and says 'well i was just being nice cos you are pig-fcking ugly' and stormed off.

What bars do you lot go to? Everyone seems really nice in the places I've dropped in on. Then again, I'm an old fart and probably don't go to places with any sort of kudos.

Chinese and expats all seem very cool here. I've spent a long time in Dubai and can testify that the expats here are absolute angels compared to the total arses you get there.
