Mosquito repelling bracelet ? do they work?

Mosquito repelling bracelet ? do they work?

Postby Medea » Thu Jul 08, 2010 9:21 pm

Today I saw mosquito repelling bracelets at Carrefour. (like this one http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=6218689694 )
Did anyone try these things? Are they any good?

I too would like to know if this item works. My legs are like a buffet table for mosquitos.

abc, yes me too :( I use this Johnson&Johnson mosquito repellent (green bottle - you can find it e.g. at Carrefour or Tesco in the section where they are selling baby soap, lotion etc.)
However, I somtimes forget to put it on - my legs look awful

Well, no answer to my question so far. Will have to try the bracelet myself then. Although I think it's weird that you can only use it for 160 hours or something?

Love the bracelets! Once you open the package, they give off a strong smell. so it's best used outside. But really works well.

They work Ok. I wore two of them and still got some bites but not as many as I would have otherwise. I did wear one at night because my hotel room had a lot of mosquito but I still got a few bites during the note.

since they normally bite my legs while sleeping i'll just by a bunch and throw them near my feet, but sounds like they don't work that well. maybe i'll try the lotion.

This Johnson&Johnson stuff is liquid (not a lotion), just head for the green bottle. It's between 15-16 kuai for one bottle. (Doesn't smell that bad too :) )

So I finally bought a insect repelling wrist band "bugout! 驱蚊圈" - well, after googling I now no that it's the Chinese "fake" of "Bug Off!"

Anyway, I think the smell is really disgusting. So I'm not going to use it during the night for sure and not during the day  . May be when walking the last round with the dog or when I feed the stray cats.
