Musicians Wanted

Postby Radge » Sat Aug 05, 2006 6:07 pm

Looking to put together a band here in Shanghai. If we can find a rehearsal room and practice a few covers, put together a setlist and then hit up a few bars for gigs.

I'm a reasonably proficient guitarist (not quite Hendrix though) and have some band experience so if you feel like getting together let me know.

No restrictions on age, sex, ethnicity, musical tastes, height, weight, number of legs, species or anything else provided you don't mind playing Poison covers in public ;)

PM or reply to this.

8) Yes I am a drummer presently living in Japan. I've been trying to put a unit together to perform in Shanghai for about 6 months now. My style is all around/seasoned. I play funk Rock/Samba/Funk R&B, Hip Hop/Jazz- jazz fushion-and Swing as well. My Favorite is reggae {The Dub Pocket} One Drop! Drop me an email if you have a solid group of musicians, and a number of Venues to walk in and get Paid Right for displaying our skills  and Talent. 8)

Um yeah I think you got the wrong idea there. I'm not looking to get paid for it and its kinda hard to practice with people in Japan....

Hi,

I was very glad to read your mail as we are in the same shoe. :) I am just moving to Shanghai on 14th August following my boyfriend who is going to work there. I left my country one month ago in the hope of also being able to make music elsewhere.
I am a professional vocalist having Jazz Education and graduated in 2003 in Hungary, Budapest.
I call myself "active" as I had been actively playing till June.
I am experienced in mainstream and acid jazz, but mainly I played latin jazz with an interesting instrument arrangement with "cymbalom". I also sang funky and soul, but my strong side is acid jazz, ballads and in latin, bossa, samba, bolero and i would say mostly all of them.
I am very open to new styles and I already miss making music so much!
I would prefer something semi or profi approach, but I do not want to sound too picky and self-conceited!
I can also play the piano but I never do it on stage, I am not a pianist. (so why mentioning it, it may help...)

I am looking forward to an answer!

So two guitarists, a singer, the drummer in Tokyo and an oompaloompa? Not much of a band that :(

Anyone else?
