Need a CHINESE person for book translation

Postby chamaflauge » Mon Jul 13, 2009 12:24 pm

Hi

I'm an American writer from New York City.I live in Shanghai now and I want to translate my second novel into Chinese. I need a Chinese person to help me.. Male or female it doesn't matter.

My novel is about 200 pages long and it deals with black culture in New York City. It doesn't all have to be done at once. You can translate 2 pages a day or 1 chapter every two days and then it will be placed on a website.

This is a new business in China and it is gaining momentum. One where both parties can gain finacial rewards

We hardly have to meet. We can do our business through MSN. Maybe we can meet once a week or we can talk through web camera

This is a good summer project for you and I also can write you recommendation letters in the future.

Conditions

Your writing English must be good, preferbly have passed TEM 8 and CET 6

You will get paid eventually if the novel does well in Chinese. We can agree on a percentage. Most importantly you have to be patient.

Second is that I would hope you do not have any tests that you must take in the future, because I do not want this process to be interrupted

Third if this interferes with your job please do not apply

Fourth, if you are from a poor family that would be great.

please leave a message in my mailbox

will answer back immediately

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Dude, made me laugh so hard... You're paying nothing upfront, only if it does well in Chinese (omg), just that makes it less likely for you to get a good translation of the novel. You want the person to be from a poor family so she/he will work for less than minimal wage (probably nothing in the end as this all just sounds like a set up for screwing them over) and will probably have no guanxi to make life here difficult for you... Dude, if you really want that book translated, invest some time and money to find a real translator who works for "real" money
