Hi All,
I'm about 3 months inShanghai now, and am lookently fairly urgently for a competent pharmacotherapist (not a shrink, but someone who understands and is able to prescribe anti-anxiety/depression medications. Thank you for your suggestions.

If you don't need therapy, just pills, you might try writing down the generic name of whatever it is you're looking for and taking it to one of the larger pharmacies. Most stuff is still available over the counter here -- including antibiotics, which I was able to buy a few days ago in spite of the new prescription rules they supposedly brought in last summer.

Go for the Zyloft!

I am sure the drug companies had the expat crowd in China in their minds when they designed it.

I know this may sound a little crazy, but what assurances do we have that what we buy is real? This is the country that can make a fake anything, right?

dr. cheese is also unaware of zyloft.
now zoloft, on the other hand, is a decent ssri. more popular, and apparently more effective than prozac and it gives you a better kick than that paxil kiddy crap. From what ive been told, it makes you feel as if youre on a mild acid trip all day long. it makes you want to hum and sing songs to yourself in your head. it also has a nasty (or nice depending on who you are with) side effect of delayed ejaculation.
good luck!

Absolutely none. Call LifeLine Shanghai and ask them where you can go. I don't have their number with me, but I'm sure it's on this site somewhere.
