After much deliberation on Pudong/Puxi, we've come to the conclusion that we will live in Pudong. We're looking to rent a reasonably priced villa that will not be too bad on the wallet.

While most of the talked about/good ones seem to be highly priced, we're looking to see if anyone can point us to a <2500$ per month villa. All we need is 3 bedrooms, a very large living and a separate dining area with a modern kitchen, and some area around the house for our Shepherd.

Some options we've discovered from our searches:

. the greenhills pudong at Jinqiao development Zone

3 bedrooms/ 2 baths/ 175-184 sqm $2000-$3000
3 bedrooms/ 4 baths/ 230 sqm $2500-$3000


. Wonderland estate

3-4 bedrooms/ 2-4 baths/ 129-207 sqm start from $1000
4-5 bedrooms/ 3-5 baths/ 236-284 sqm start from $2000

. Beverly Hills at Jinqiao development Zone
4 bedrooms/ 5 baths/ 272 sqm $2500

Any pointers/opinions on these and other properties. If we can't find something suitable in the <2500 price range, we may settle for an apartment in Summit Residences or somewhere ... we'll just have to leave behind the Shepherd, something that we will have a hard time doing.

Sounds like you have done a lot of research. I am moving to Shanghai in February (from Boston, MA)to set up an office for my USA company. It would be great if you could let me know what you finally decide on for living location.
