Need Furniture -- Alternative to IKEA?

Postby atlas_shrugged » Sun Jun 28, 2009 10:26 pm

Hi,

I need to buy some furniture. I am specifically looking for a bed frame and mattress (or Japanese Tatami platform). I want to try somewhere else than IKEA, but would like good design and value as well.

Can you please recommend some areas or specific stores that I should check out? Preferably in Puxi area.

Thanks!

Ao Men Lu.

Wide variety of styles and prices.

Yep, both of those roads are goodies.....Wending and Aomen.

Take along a picture of what you want and most likely you will find someone that will copy it cheaply.

I find that abt 80% of the furniture doesn't quite appeal to most western tastes so making something is often the best alternative and quite cheap.

There's another place called Cao Jia Du on Channing Rd. Very cheap furniture there.

Thanks very much for the helpful advice. I will check out these areas next weekend. Would these stores by able to copy an opium day bed? Any specific stores you can recommend here or by PM?

Best place I found was Jinsheng at X of Langao, and Tongchuan, in Putuo.
Furnished our apartment from there. Three floors of everything from bathroom, bedroom, decoration, lighting, kitchen stuff, blah blah.
Negotiable, and can make stuff to order.
