I'm planning to start losing weight again soon and hopefully one day I could be 'svelte'! I'm still eating healthily but I've been on an almost non-stop business trip for the last three months and I find it harder to stay off the booze!

Nobody heard of or tried Copenhagen diet recipe? Friend of mine lost 5kg in 2 weeks before her wedding, and her initial weight is only 55kg, I guess.

I exercise for 45mins a day, 5 times a week is there anything that would give my metabolism a kick up the posterior so I can keep losing would be great

If you have kept the same exercise routine for a while your body already got used to therefore you are not getting any additional results.
You need to change your routine drastically to something new so you can keep improving: try kettlebells (they are awesome) and certainly take a look to your diet (not suggesting to starve yourself) you may be able to make some changes.

Thanks, blabla.

So it's important for you to be less healthy than you are now, is that right?

Because if you somehow succeed in losing ten kilograms in six weeks, you sure as hell ain't going to be healthy any more.

Are you cutting water weight for a wrestling match or something?

As a fitness professional, I must agree, that's an unhealthy time frame to lose that much weight. For someone your size, if you're dropping more than 500 grams a week, most likely there's something seriously wrong with what you're doing. You would be losing mostly muscle and water weight. The weight loss you experience won't be permanent, and it won't be healthy. If you want to lose 10Kg (presumably 10Kg of fat) the healthy route would take you closer to 5 months.

There are no shortcuts to health. These things take time.

Here's my question: why are you in such a hurry?

The only information you've given is your body mass index (height to weight ratio) which is perhaps the most unreliable indicator of health ever conceived by the fitness industry.

Currently your BMI is 28.1, which according to the charts is "overweight", and your goal is a BMI of 25, which is just at the border of "normal". And my professional opinion is that's all a bunch of crap.

There are too many variables in the equation. If you buy into the idea a BMI as a valid interpretation of health, then most professional athletes are overweight, especially bodybuilders. By the standards of a BMI, many strength athletes in peak physical condition are "morbidly obese"
Image
(just look at those fat bastards)

The point is, you're not going to get the advice you need from random strangers on the internet, especially when all they know is that you want a smaller body mass index and you want to do it in an unreasonable time frame.

Technically, I could show you how to drop 10 Kg in a 48 hour time frame- but I won't because unless you're a contender for a championship title belt in a professional combat sport and a big stack of cash to go along with it, there's no good reason to ever do that to your body.

If your problem is too much body fat (which I assume it is) then you will have to change a lot of things about your lifestyle. Again, there's no quick fix to a change in lifestyle. But here's the real dilemma, no one here actually knows what your problem is. You can't fix it if you don't know what's broken. To give you any kind of educated answer I need to understand at least 2 things: 1 What's your body fat percentage? 2 What's your basal metabolic rate? There's no way to figure that out on a web forum.

The following information would also be helpful:

How old are you?
Do you have any major injuries?
Have you had any surgeries recently?
Do you have any illnesses or diseases?
Do you smoke?
Do you drink?
Are you willing to change your lifestyle?
Are you willing to step outside of your comfort zone?
Are you willing to change your eating habits?
Are you willing to change your sleeping habits?
Are you willing to stick to a strict exercise regiment?

Keep a journal for one week and write down the following information every day:

1. What you eat & drink. How much, and how often.
2. What kind of movement, activity, or exercise you do each day. How much, and how often. This includes walking around, activity at work, or anywhere else, not just gym time.
3. How much do you sleep? When? Write down the times.

Get me that information (be completely honest) and I can help you get as fit, strong, and healthy as you want. However, it will take about 5 months. It will not happen in 6 weeks. Anyone promising otherwise is either a blatant liar or terribly misinformed about the way the human body works.

I agree with Ramsey. I have a BMI of 25.5, so in theory I am overweight. Well, ask Tyler, he's met me. If anything, I need to put 2-3 kg of "beef" on my upper body.

My advice is to not do anything that isn't sustainable - too easy to fall back into bad habits and gain the weight back and more. Try cutting down your intake and running as well. The trap that many fall into is to start a workout program and actually increase their intake because of increased appetite or embark on an unsustainable diets that yields results in the short term but disastrous in the long term. A measured approach will be far more successful (IMO)

1. Wake up in the morning and go run.
2. Skip breakfast.
3. Eat about 1g of protein to your bodyweight.
4. Drink about 3L of water everyday.
5. Avoid carbohydrate sources like they're the devil.
6. Make sure to drink coffee without sugar often.
7. Go to gym membership and start lifting weights very heavily.
8. Don't do this for 8 weeks but rather do this for a lifetime.

You can take a supplement of caffeine pills and bronchide... Though not sure where you're going to find bronchide in China. If you google caffeine + bronchide you'll find a ton of articles about this subject.

buy L-carnitine, Deep Sea fish oil. L-carnitine is working great burning your fat, check it on the web. but it only works if you do exercise. deep sea fish oil is great as well, it stops the gens in your body that are responsible for accumulating fat. Running will do the thing. but you gotta run at least 40 mins with a low speed, fat begins to burn after 30-40mins of the aerobic exercise. and the diet - reduce carbs

Sigh... Okay...

1. Wake up in the morning and go run. The optimal time to run at any point of the day is first thing in the morning because you're body will have burned the residual calories from the previous day. So when you run you'll be burning calories from the fat stored in your body.
2. Skip breakfast. It's been proven that breakfast is not necessary. You only need to eat your body's maintenance calories (google intermittent fasting). You can eat 2000 calories in one sitting if you want.
3. Protein is the most filling per gram of calories than fat and carbohydrates. Eating lean protein will help increase satiety and also help to preserve muscle when you're trying to lose weight.
4. Water is a necessity to flush out your system. Also drinking water adds to satiety and in overall will increase health.
5. Carbohydrates are a big factor for people gaining weight. Carbs are not evil neccesarily but they spike insulin thus increasing your body's ability to store fat (google more about carb cycling and ketosis diet).
6. Coffee is nature's stimulant. Caffeine increases the body's temperature and supresses appetite. Coffee in general is great for people looking to cut.
7. Lifting weights in combination with eating 1g of protein to bodyweight will help to preserve muscle while on a calorie reduction diet. Also working out heavy will help to increase muscle mass and muscle burns more calories thus raising your body's maintenance calorie levels.
8. It's a lifestyle change. If you do this for 8 weeks then you'll just crash and burn and then gain back to the exact same weight.

Thank you all for this valuable posts. Will stick to the goal, combining sport holidays instead of going home and having the pain of x-mas dinners every. Will go easier on carbs in the evenings drinking much water and let's see where it gets me.

In my opinion its extra more to lose weight 10 kg in a week may it have some harmful effect. you only lose your weight with piles if you want so fast.
