New Cable TV?

New Cable TV?

Postby scottybobotti » Thu Jun 19, 2008 10:42 pm

I live in an older Chinese building with all Chinese and we just got an upgrade to our cable tv system. I now have 95 channels and a box that not only displays all the tv channels and their programming in English like Tivo, but can be connected to the internet and download movies, shop, etc. There is also a usb port so you can plug in an external hard drive and record programs and a slot for some kind of card that gives you access to even more channels. My Chinese isn't that good yet, but I think that my neighbors were telling me this system is going to be set up for all of Shanghai. The company is OCA. Does anyone else have this service? I've never seen anyone talk about this, but I now have a channel that plays NCAA college basketball games from the 07-08 season 24 hours a day! They rotate 3 or 4 games every day. A bunch of channels called SITV that show interesting stuff and several international channels, at least 10. There is even a 24 hour a day video game channel for all you who wanted to watch gaming league Warcraft III and Counter Strike matches with Chinese commentary. Most of it is all in Chinese, but that is fine for me since I'm here to learn the language. Is my building just super old and I'm just now getting the standard cable everyone else already has?

All,

Yes, this discount system works, and your HR still gives you 100% of your housing allowance. I personally have never had any issue for the past 2 years. I get my fa piao from my real estate person. They English language service, and charge around 2.5-3% of the total face value of the fa piao, depending on how much you order at once. They accept cash and can deliver to any address you tell them, so you can examine the fa piao on the spot. If you want the contact, just msg me.

What's HR got to do with cable tv?
"everytime we talk, we end up naked"
"then just marry her, that will end it"
