New F Visa regulations

Postby Macpod » Thu Aug 17, 2006 10:35 pm

as of 1st of august, all f visa will require the actual business registration certificate of the sponsoring company, NOT a photocopy. I found out this yesterday when i went to reapply.

Yup... the reason is there are too many fake copies going around. It is a crack down on illegal workers.

Yup, that's the way it is and they're planning to widen this so that you in future can't apply yourself only the company can, but lets see if they can push it through.

man that really sucks. do you need to leave the original copy at the immigration office? these things are so precious to the company in question I feel bad enough asking to borrow it. I would hate to have to leave it there for several days till my extension gets processed.

by the way could anyone also tell me how far in advance of your F visa expiring you have to go to immigration office (1500 min sheng rd) to apply for extension?

Weird, the visa agent I went to did not even need me to provide a photocopy. I believed they have their ways. Wonder this will affect them now.

I didnt goto an agent. this is probably why they started this ****, your agent probably has a cupboard full of fake fotocopies!

It takes 3 business ofr the visa to be processed. Id go a week in advance just to be safe. but dont go too early because th new visa starts ont he day you get it renewed, not when the old one dues.

Just a notice displayed on one agencies website concerning F Visa.

Dear customer, since mid August,2006, the government has changed the procedures for processing F business visas.

As the situation is not very stable yet, we can not guaranty services and prices. If you want to apply for a visa, please contact us either by phone or email to get the latest update before coming to our office.

This situation is as unpleasant for you as for us but as more and more foreigners are coming to SHANGHAI, the Chinese government is just in the process of tightening all the rules in order to improve their surveillance on expatriates movements in and out of the Chinese territory.

We apologize again for this inconvenience and hope that this situation is going to stabilize rapidly.

Well this is because they don't have enough experience. A good visa company has no problems for 99% of situatons. Call Dave at 13818894237 and he won't have a problem helping you out.

Anyone else have any experience with Dave? Just called him now and he seems to know what he's doing, but I'm just making sure.

You used to only need an invitation letter! I just checked emoo.net, the place where I got my visa done, they now charge double what they used to.

^ The statement I posted previous was from emoo, so Im not surprised that the price has been hiked up.

I tried emoo and VisaInChina a few days ago and they couldn't help at all with converting L to F. Even if they're charging double, at least it's no longer impossible.

Still a PITA though

Oh yeah, I just saw that too.

I wonder if this will continue or die down after a while. I suspect that some of these visa offices (emoo etc) have an "inside person" in the main visa department, who gets a slice of the profit and helps to make it happen/turn a blind eye to it. Maybe with these new regulations people who were doing that are laying low for a while to stay under the radar, then slowly it'll become easier again, or at least that's what I'm hoping.

It all depends on how established you are. Like I mentioned only Hotsun Visas can take care of 99% of problems that all the others can't and they charge less than the others.
