cherry_chain, you're barking up the wrong tree. Most places close at -3am as a general rule , whether they be bars or clubs. There are a few other places that stay open til later, but they are in the minority (unfortunately!)
I heard about the 2am curfew on the news a few weeks ago, they supposedly have to close between 2 - 8 am. Here's a link to what Shanghaiist has to say if anyone is interested http://www.shanghaiist.com/archives/200 ... ate_ha.php
The rule SHOULD apply everywhere. It just depends on which ktv (i.e. the C*unts Club) has the guanxi to get around it. Haven't been to Senses late enough in awhile to see if they've closed earlier or not.

I'll be interested to see if it closes down the later night places on Huashan Lu, Julu Lu, Tongren LU etc. But even if it happens, there are sure to be some smart Charlies avoiding the rules somehow. Quite frankly, as a late night drinker, I hope this proposed rule is put on the back burner here in Shanghai.
