Rice or Noodles

It seems to me, people in Shanghai eat more Noodles than Rice.

What about dumplings? They're regional as well.

Noodle is regional as well. Mifen is popular on South, Miantiao on North, Mixie is famous in Guandong.
Dumplings - xiao long bao somehow reminds me dumplings, they just cook differently.

I know that rice is more popular in the South and Noodles in the North....Shanghai to me is more like in the middle....not south and not really North..

Rice, noodles or dumplings, I like them all. I don't eat a lot of potatoes anymore. Actually stopped doing that before I came to China. Used to live in the Caribbean, and it was more rice there.

I love rice, just not Chinese rice. Good old long grain wild rice or Spanish rice, or those other dishes outside the region, rice smothered in beef with carrot stew. For noodles I thing of spagetti or egg noodles. I just have to deal with it here.

My daughter loves noodles, so does my wife. At restaurants that dare serve western styles I always go for baked rice over some Asian take on Italian pasta.

So very true. . .

Though depending on how I'm feeling I might argue civilization pretty much ends once you get north of the Min River.
Naturally, I finished my set. . .
