The weirdest thing just happened to me last night... can anyone explain to me how the .. this is possible?

Yesterday evening I was just playing around with my new cell phone, nothing special, its a nokia e63, if that helps to find the explanation. I bought it 2 months ago and just use it for calling, sms and receiving emails, nothing else.

Like I said, yesterday I was just going through all the options, see what this phone actually could do, never really bothered to check it the previous 2 months but doesnt matter, now here it comes;

When I was checking my 'gallery' and more specific my sound clips, I found loads of conversations stored in my phone that I had on skype LAST YEAR IN SUMMER?????? All these calls have been made last year when I was in my home country for holiday. using skype from my PC in my home country to my Chinese friends here in Shanghai,

I was flabbergasted.... this phone wasn't even made back than, I have never or in any other way recorded any of those calls, I have never used this phone to download skype or whatever (so it couldnt have uploaded it to my phone in a magical way).

Can anyone explain to me how these conversations get on my new phone??? I'm , stunned, no idea how did happened?

No smoking last night. Im serious, Im confused how this is possible..

I do have a memory sd card that i took from my previous phone, but even that phone has nothing to do with the conversations I had on skype last year using my PC in my homecountry right.. ??

I dont even know what a hot sync with pc is, so I guess not . This phone has been bought here, my pc is back in my homecountry so thats also impossible...

I dont even have the cord, I only use my phone to call, sms and receive emails. Wouldnt even know how to use with wireless and bluetooth to the computer blabla. If I did i assume it magically uploaded the skype conversations (which I didnt know are being recorded), a weird thing is that the skype conversations back then were all to Chinese phones. Other calls made by skype are not on there

maybe someone is "fu5king" with you. someone like Chinese go r net... or some russian/chinese hackers o r something...

I'm just playing around. It does sound like magic, though, and only slightly less unbelievable than finding someone else's skype convos on one's phone. Try taking out your old SD card. My bet is you'd lose the conversations. That would narrow down the possibilities...

Is there any software on the phone ( or through your phones browser ) that connects you skype? stuff like fring, or some of the IM aggregators? Did you ever use that SD to back up something on your computer? My guess is something is connecting either this or your last phone to skype, and somehow your conversations were backed up. It is a little weird though, based on what you say about where the conversation were made.

I took out the sd card out now, they were still on the phone BUT probably because they again 'magically' got copied to the phone since when I put it back in I saw the same files with and without the SD card sign thing. So they probably were on the sd card... but then again, how did they get on there, and how did I never see this on my previous phone... (never hooked that one onto the computer either)

I guess we'll never know..

Ps. just see the next post. I dont have any software on this, I am a technical dumbass, nothing connects to pc , there is no skype on either of the phones.

I used the previous phone in my home country, so technically the phone and the pc were close to eachother. But still dont see why and how it would save conversations that i made to China.

Wait, Michael might have a point, I do remember backing up the sd card back home last year before i came back to Shanghai, maybe thats when it synchronised with the data on the computer or something and put on files from the computer on the card (without asking me), that might be an explanation....

Still weird that skype conversations are recorded and saved, never knew that. And weird that they would be syncronised to the car without any other data being sent to the card but this.

Obviously you have installed one of those apps which record your conversations automatically. Then after backing up your SD as Micheal has stated and you has confirmed it appears on your phone, so it was not magical at all. At the END everything will be right, if not turn left!
