Let's write a book, a few sentences at a time.

This is an experiment, If it works it works. Add to the story with 1 sentence minimum, 5 maximum. Please don't funk it up on purpose but have fun with it.

Chapter 1.


Yi Shu awoke early that morning, knocking over the old bicycle his uncle gave him on his way out the door. He had a dream the night before and by the time it had faded from his mind, he was already on the first train heading east.

While he was watching the warm autumn sky out of the window, last nights dream came back to his mind like a flash. Now he was sure that he dreamed of that girl...

She was a few years older than him, he had met her at the noodle restaurant many years before but could never forget the way she wiggled her plump ass when she walked. She once said to him, "You look like that guy in the American movies...... Tang Mu Han Ke Xi, only more Chinese!". Yi Shu opened the small bag of peanuts he had bought from the blind peanut seller, hoping that would take his mind off of her. It worked, for each peanut he would give a name of a person that had been mean to him, then crunch it slowly between his teeth. Before he knew it, he was at the next town.

He tryed to remember all the details of their that very first meeting... Once there was a time when he thought he is in love with her... Her name was Li Qiu Xiang... Autumn Scent... What a right name for her!!!

Obviously the bag of peanuts was finished! He rolled up his pants a bit and scratched the rash he got from working on the hog farm the day before. How many hogs had he lifted onto that trunk?, he thought to himself. Must have been one hundred, or more! Before he could count all of them a man bumped him from behind and he felt the burning pain of hot tea on his head and shoulder.

"Yer looking mighty fine bent over like that boy" exclaimed the mystery man from behind in a deep, gravelly voice. "Pretty soon you'll be squealing like one of them there pigs of yours!" Yi Shu's mind raced, "Where have I heard this before!!?? It sounds SO familiar!" then it hit him like a wet towel being snapped at him in the boys locker room: "It's from that pirated DVD I picked up at the market: The Shining!"

Images of elevators filled with blood, little girls on "big wheels" and crazy men with axes, flooded his brain. He turned and there, standing over him, was old man Zheng. He hadn't seen him for months and wished he had never seen him again. Mr. Zheng owned the local 'massage parlor' and was often seen walking around town with his gang of young men. They were known as "the Black Fox gang". Yi Shu wiped the hot tea from his head and face then looked up as Mr.Zheng began to speak again.

"What exactly do you mean by that" hurled the young boy. My parents babba and mamma told me don't never talk to strangers on the train or anywhere else. Please leave me alone sir.

The boy continued: "I only care about one thing now!" said the boy in a firm voice. And that is to find my beautiful Li Qiu Xiang ! I miss her so .... I need to find her, I love her .

<The old dirty man had something of a grin starting to happen at this time. Suddenly the old man stated talking and the boy was ever so attentive>

old man Zheng: "I know where your beautiful Autumn Scent is right now" stated Zheng. So if you want me to tell you, you'd better change your attitude right now and let this dirty ole man have his way with you in the barn ...

Hahaha!, Yi Shu laughed nervously as he pondered the strange request. It wouldn't be the first time he had fouled around with an old man in a barn, plus the thought of seeing Autumn Scent again made him become 'somewhat' arroused right there. "Where is she?" Yi Shu asked, hoping old man Zheng would slip and reveal her location. "Nice try, little fart!" replied Zheng, "but you are gonna' have to work to find your little girl friend".

Please, Mr. Zheng, tell me where to find her? All these years I'm waiting for her letter or any kinda information which could give me clue where she is now..." said YiShu desperatly trying to force his shaking hand be still.

Yi Shu pulled his shaking hand from his pants and reached now for his wallet. "Mr. Zheng" he began, "You are a business man, how much for the information you hold?". Just then, the train began to pull away from the station and it's whistle blew, like some kind of bad omen. Old Zheng laughed and raised one hand to form a circle, with the other he pointed a single finger and let it slide back and forth through the hole. Yi Shu felt a wave of fear roll over him and he sat back down, his head in his hands.

Yi Shu know about Mr.Zhengs interest in his older sister Yi Hua, and he knew exactly what this old dirt bag wanted from him now. He just couldnt let the thought of his sister, young beatiful girl being dishonored by this old man, which means she will be part of his massage parlor. Old Zheng knew what he is doing, all men of that small city will rush to his parlor as soon as they know that young beauty Yi Hua is working for him...

It was almost like he was being hypnotized ... his eyes had become very very heavy. It's like he knew he just had to stay awake but try as he did, he could not stay awake ...

This had happened before he thought. He was trying to think of something so much nicer instead of this misery in hell that was starting to happen ... and he remembered his brother telling him these rumors of this sick man ...

All of a sudden ... BANG !!! A door slams ...

He wakes up and feels very groggy, almost as though he had been drugged. He could not remember anything ... he felt exposed ...

A few moments go by ... then he notices a half finished bottle of yellow wine and Old man Zheng is passed out beside it ... .

He remembered that they had several drinks, but he could not remember that anything had happened. Thank god, thought the boy. That was only a dream.

Here was his chance to find out more about the girl he couldn't live without. He thought, why not check the man's coat pockets for an address, business card, book of matches, or information.

He slowly moved towards Zheng by tip toe. But as he stood up, there was still something that didn't feel right. His shirt which nornally is neatly tucked in is now outside his pants. The man snored as he reached towards his pocket where he found a pack of cigarettes. He opened it and found a number inside and beside the number was the name Autumn.

Yi Shu thought to himself, this cannot be a coincidence. I must call her as soon as possible ....

At that exact moment, the old Man Zheng awoke abruply !!

Old Man Zheng's shaky hand gripped Yi Shu. "Do you think you are going to steal the number from me?" he demanded.

Still feeling a bit groggy from the indulgence of wine the night before, Yi Shu blinked at Old Man Zheng. In the miliseconds that passed between them, he gained all his strength and ripped his hand out of the suprisingly fierce grip of the wizened old man. Reaching into his back pocket, he hastily grabbed a...

small bottle of "eau de toilette", oddly enough it was a fake bottle of Christian Dior's "Poison". Yi Shu had bought it at the train station hoping to give it to Autumn Scent, when he finally found her. Yi Shu sprayed it several times into old Zhengs face. With a green mist surrounding his head, Zheng fell back over a chair and onto the floor, yelling "TA MA DE !!!".

At that same moment, Yi Shu charges for Zheng's pocket again to reach for the cigarette package with Autumn's number on it. Blinded by the "eau de toilette" , Zheng still has the fight to hold on to the cigarette package but it rips in half while Yi Shu and Zheng struggle for it.

Just like the chick in the horror flick with high heels in the forest Zheng grabs Yi Shu's leg as he manages one swift kick in his groin. He then forces the door of the moving train open and jumps about 15 feet down into some grassy slope.

When he finally comes to a few moments later, he manages a large grin because he knows that he has the number with him, all crumbled up in his right hand....

Or does he .....

Chapter 2.

Yi Shu sits frozen, the sound of the train in the distance is now no louder than his beating heart. He has to look, but fears the struggle with Zheng was worthless. "At the count of three" Yi Shu says to himself, "....1.......2.........3". He opens his hand and there in it is the crumpled cigarette package with the number ripped clear in half. Yi Shu lets out a sigh and reads what is left of it. "Autumn 136817........."

By now Yi Shu is exhausted from the 2 hour walk to the nearest town, and completely drained out of ideas. In a strange kind of way, the restaurant he has found reminds him of the noodle restaurant where he had first seen his Autumn dream.

He takes out the pack of cigarettes, with the incomplete phone number and wonders is it really worth it. I mean will she even remember him after all this time? There must be some other clue, maybe something inside the cigarette pack.

Wait! A dirty ripped business card by his feet, under the table. He picks it up and reads in Chinese "Black Fox Massage Parlor". He looks for an address and phone number but can't make them out.

"Oh!, you want massagie, do you?" the waitress asks as she comes up to take Yi Shu's order. She is a tall woman, she has a uni-brow and smells of fish and garlic. "No, I'm just looking for my friend" Yi Shu responds. "Well, if you do want massagie, you can come by the new Black Fox parlor later. I will be working there tonight." she says as she looks Yi Shu up and down. "It just opened, they are opening in all the towns around here" she continues, "they even have one as far away as Shanghai".

Yi Shu's eyes bulge "Autumn always said one day she would see the bright lights of that city." The waitress looks him in his still bulging eyes "You know Autumn Scent?" now her eyes start to bulge too, "You aren't Yi Shu, are you?" she continues, "The Black Fox gang is after him, everyone is talking about what happened on the train."

Could this be what became of his childhood sweetheart? Could she be working for this dispicable old man Zheng in his massage parlour in Shanghai? And if so, was that really that bad?

Not another moment could be wasted - Mi Tan... screamed Yi Shu. Then as the waitress approached him asking for money, he became very embarrased as the waitress had noticed an incredible unhideable bulge in the boys pants. He had become so excited, while thinking of his Autumn dream.

The boy ran outside, and off towards the train station at once ... [Was he insane? Was he on a suicide mission? Going after the gang all by himself? ... Or did he have other plan?]

His mind was blowing, as he reaches train station and buys earliest train to Shanghai. First time in all these years he had felt that he is actually going to see his sweet girl Autumn... "I dont care, I dont care if she works for that bastard or no, I know, only I know who is she deep inside. I can help her become decent citizen, and leave that life..." He was whispering to himself. Now, when he holds that tiny thread leading to Autumn, he doesnt care about anything, about whole gang of criminals hunting him, about his dad and brother waiting for him to bring hext months salary, which he desperatly tryes to collect for all these years in order to buy own house one day, to live there with his Autumn... Now when he has a hope that she is still alive, everything else really doesnt matter. He knew he could find out a way...

Chapter 3
Yi Shu wakes suddenly as he's bumped by a short, but sturdy old man, dragging his bag down from the luggage rack over head. He almost can't believe his eyes as he reads the sign that seems to be starring back at him, as surprised to see him as he is to see it, Shanghai. "I must have slept through the night," he says to himself and springs up out of his seat. The excitement i's too much and he starts to push his way through the crowd lining up at the door of the train. "This is it!" he's thinking I'm here. Running through the underpass like a man possesed he hold back the urge to scream to scream to her "I'm here!"

Yi Shu remembers that he has an uncle that was part of some ganster group, I think it was the Triads in Shenzhen. He sms's his older sister and asks if anyboby knows where his uncle is now. Suddenly, an sms comes through with his uncle's number (a Shanghai number). It just so happens that his uncle runs a restaurant now in Shanghai.

Uncle Tao, I'm not sure if you remember me but I have gotten myself in a hoot of trouble. This is your nephew Yi Shu. It's a long story but I have recently severely pissed off the Black Fox Gang in trying to locate my true love, Autumn. Now I know where she is, but the whole gang is after me. I have no choice but to go after her, because if I hide I know they will kill her. The man that runs this gang is Zheng. Would you know him by any chance? Is there any way you can help me?

[As soon as he said Zheng, the phone went dead silent. Then only the dial tone ... ]

Uncle Tao, Uncle Tao ... are you there ??????

Now Yi Shu was all alone in big city with huge buildings and enormous noise... Everywhere cars, people speaking strange language, and a bad bad stinky air. He felt nausea partly from hunger that he didnt have eaten anything for almost three days, partly from this place. He couldnt understand why Autumn was always so excited about being in Shanghai...

The last chapter

Yi shu found his Autumn dead in Shanghai, but he just can't find her dead body,coz she vaporized forever.

Thank you for the whole story! It's a masterpiece in both Chinese and Western literature! The novelist should be awarded the Nobel prize i think!

But i still don't get this! Why he try to reach her in such **** way? Why? Did she know it? Does she like the way he approached her? Was she fond of that? Is it a legal thing?

Who should give a preface to this book anyway? will this book be on sale in the global market?

Shall i add a preface to it to make the book perfect?

The preface

Autumn had never left Shanghai in the first place!

She just wanted to be forgotten by Yi Shu and lived her own life, named herself a new English name to start a new life and to forget everything unhappy, free to go everywhere she likes to go. She just wanted freedom. What makes her feel cold is not the city but the people! She never had freedom and privacy anyway! Never! Why people always follow her and intrude her personal life? why? She never managed to figure that out!

She did strive, but God rules!

She never changed her Chinese name, she always changed her English names. Before the last chapter she named herself Elinor not Li Qiu Xiang... Autumn Scent!
