Is service from Carrefour good? Do they ship things door-to-door?

Is it really up again? I've been trying off and on for about a month and i always get this message: "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later." and was wondering if that meant "we're closed because of the boycott" or if I've just been unlucky when I try to access it.

I have accessed the website through following link

http://e-shop.carrefour.com.cn

However, this link doesn't do me any good because it's in Chinese. Any tips on finding an English version?

No problems accessing the site. Don't know why you guys can't. It's all in Chinese though, of course.

I doubt there's an English version otherwise there would be a ENGLISH button to click on on the front page of the site. They probably think it's too much effort to translate the entire site into English for the small proportion of non-Chinese customers.

http://e-shop.carrefour.com.cn/index.do

this is the link I looked at and it was either in English or it has an 'EN' button. I can't tell right now because the site is down again.

The site isn't down it's just that page that doesn't work. Either the address is wrong or they've simply removed that page.

as latina said
members did receive automatically the temporary price list in excel format - you just fill out what you need and email the list back. delivery time ~24hours. .... will try to find the link and post it here.

the website is under construction but should be up and running july 1st (at least thats what they told me). as before there will be an english and chinese order page

delivery is door to door. but checking what arrived is kind of a hassle, as they bring two lists. Also, when they deliver wrong goods, they dont like to take it back (but they do if you insist). It got a bit better then a month ago, but the 'checking 'still takes time.

anyhow - as mentioned, not hassle free and you might be a bit agressive afterwards but still better then driving to gubei carrefour on a saturday

Does this also apply to Shanghai? The delivery area and the map are only about Beijing...

My experience with Carrefour online service this week.

The registration process was quick. I placed an order on Wednesday night. Received a call on Thursday morning, indicating that the goods would be delivered around 16:00 Thursday. So far so good. I left work early to be home for the delivery. The delivery man showed up 18:30. Missing in the delivery was almost half of the items on the order list. The answer was "out of stock." Toilet paper and oranges out of stock? Really? I had this fleeting vision of half the Gubei store empty. What are the odds? Most likely, the clerk was too lazy to go through the store to gather all the items on the order list. The delivered package of Hormel bacon was very warm, probably from sitting in the truck all day long. Good thing I did not order any vegetables!

My grade: a D. Granted, I did not have to leave the house to purchase the goods. However, I did not get about half of items I ordered. I wasted a couple of hours waiting for the delivery guy. And now, I will have to make a trip to the store to buy the items that were not delivered, which is completely defeating the purpose of a delivery service.

I will give it another shot later to see if the service improves the second time around. However, I am not counting on it.

Does carrefour or any other place for that matter carry egg crate foam to put over the matterss but under the sheets? I looked in the Century Mart, and could not find it as well as the Careefour in Hongkou. Need it for a Chinese bed and I have a real bad back. Pleas PM me if any info...thanks!

My experience. Registration was a bit of problem at first.. I think it was having problems with firefox. Finally got it take in IE...

Ordered a bunch of stuff. Many things they did not have in their db that I usually buy. They called that morning in english and let m eknow about what time it would be delivered and they were pretty much on time. Missing 2 items OOS out of 12. Yes.. we will have to make a trip back to the story, but at least we got some of the heavy items delivered.

Grade C:

Nice, warm Hormel bacon. How many Cold-Chain and frozen product seminars are necessary ? Half the items were out of stock ? F*** the delivery service eh. Hopeless.
