Just moved to shanghai and looking for a flat.

Anyone live in Palace Court (french concession)?

any information about living there would be helpful
how is the building?
noise levels?
how easy to get a taxi in the morning?
and so on

Hi Sam,

We have lived in Shanghai for three years and have been in Palace Court since May. It is a great area with lots of restaurants and close to metro and pretty much everything. Taxis in the morning (we usually leave the house at about 815) is not usually hard (except when raining when it is difficult anywhere in Shanghai). Can't remember ever having to wait more than 5 min. The buildings are good though since they are older in Shanghai terms there is always some sort of work going on, either the building itself or apartments within the building. Someone on the floor above mine is having some work done now, but they pretty much stick to the "legal" schedule. There are some construction sites on Huai Hai in front of us, but as there is a building in between the noise is blocked out. Have never started before 9am and never work late at night. Management team is good and helpful.

Palace court is a nice compound,few falts are double glass.it's so quiet if you close the window .i agree supernena's opinion.it's easy to get taxi if you leave house around 8:00am. we have a lot of flats in this compound or around this compound .I am sincerely hope that we can have a chance to show you some nice options when you have time.
