PAPER PLEASE

Postby anter » Tue Jul 27, 2010 12:48 pm

No not copier paper.
Cotton paper, acid free, different gm weights, texture variation, different colours, deckle edged,
Large sheets (say 60cm x 90 cm) thereabouts little smaller OK down to A3 say.
Momigami paper. (*dont say Japan)
In Shanghai,
prefer in Pudong but motivated to travel to big stockpile of lovely paper stock.

*This is not for gift wrapping, not that kind of paper. Art/craft types.
Thank you

hahahahaha - you aren't asking for much are you?

In Pudong... I'm not sure. I know there is a street near the Bund that has lots of different kind of paper (office supply street) and I have found lots of different kind of paper for arts and crafts.

Greeneyedlady is talking about Fuzhou Rd which not only is the book street but also the stationary and art supplies street. A wander down there will find you some art/craft paper for sure.

GEL and Adrienne, thank you so much. It seems that I can look forward to sensible female advice and information, when needed. Now why can't the men behave like that.

GEL, you look remarkably like a certain Russian spy. 8)

Most stationery shops stock different kinds of paper, and origami paper is very popular here, in different colours, shapes and sizes. Should be easy to find

Thanks,
and yes tihZ_hO I am printing but not money.

*momigami is different to origami paper. Momi - gami means hand-crushing in Japanese.
momigami is laminated layers of scrunched sheets of paper and is very textured and beautiful.
Although from Japan some of the less costly style comes from Thailand.

this is one but also artist grade acid free, rag or cotton paper is something I'll be on the lookout for.
I'll try the area GEL and Adrienne suggested and trust there is some there.
Much appreciated

Anter, having been into those stationery stores near Fuzhou lu, I don't recall seeing anything like that, but then again, I wasn't looking for momigami paper (sounds beautiful). Good luck finding what you're looking for.

you should try making your own paper- some tree barks, lotta spit, and a nice flat ass. that's all the ingredients you need to claim yourself a one man paper factory. but since you're a woman, i guess you're out of luck.

I printed a bunch of these years ago.

Image

I would fold them and drop one or two from my 24th floor apt window every so often and watch the fun!! Let the games begin!!

One landed on the street and almost caused a wreck!! I could here the swearing up on the 24th floor when they unfolded it!

Usually they would stuff it into their pocket and hurry off . . . he he he.

Little bit twisted but I like it. :D Did you print both sides, ya know as both sides usually printed except in Papua where they trade shells.
Play money with ShEx member faces, fold as follows or your own design. Please post a photo of your creation:
