Philsat rip off

Postby vols » Wed Dec 16, 2009 9:49 am

I got this e-mail today from our satellite distributor that Phil sat took off with describers money and now we have to pay up again or loose Dream service!!Is this for real? has anybody got the same thing?

this is the e-mail I received

]To the Dream subscribers;

During November, Dream Satellite and Ben Sports (aka Philsat) had a dispute in business blow up. It is alleged that Ben owes Dream substantial money, and were not faithful in paying/documenting subscribers as accounts were opened. As an agent, we paid for the annual subscriptions, Philsat was only paying Dream on a month to month service basis. When Philsat stopped paying their bills, Dream reciprocated by terminating service to Philsat subscribers.

We received no prior notice of the dispute, and only began learning details after calling Dream many many times each day. Dream agreed to continue broadcast to you during December, allowing some time to resolve the commercial issues. At present, Dream is unwilling to extend service to Philsat serviced accounts beyond December 31st, 2009. This has been their position for all Philsat accounts.

We are in discussion with Dream to get some better consideration of your accounts. At present, we have not agreed to any proposal requiring subscribers “pay twice” to continue their service. My negotiating position is weak because hundreds of other Philsat based subscribers have already agreed to pay for service to be continued through other agents. These other agents paid over 200 RMB to get service extended through December, and have agreed to continue to pay this monthly rate through their current period.

Philsat has been completely dishonest. We still receive daily emails stating they are ‘working on the problem’, yet see nothing happening.

As angry as we are with Philsat, this has created opportunity for better tv viewing.
-I am now dealing directly with Dream. All new Dream accounts are being established directly with Dream. All subscriber renewals are being done directly with Dream. I can verify in their database that the expiration dates of the cards is correct. The accuracy and accountancy of the subscriptions is correct. I will not allow any ‘distributor’ to damage my business.
-I am now an authorized agent for Cignal systems here in the PRC. Cignal is a competitive system to Dream. Cignal is owned by Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, ranked in the top 1500 businesses in the world. Economically, Cignal will be in much better financial care then Dream. At present Cignal does not offer quite the same content as Dream, but Cignal is aggressively developing HD content and expanding content. I will keep you informed as to service options when settled.

My mission has been simple;
To provide you with the best available TV content at the most competitive price.
To ensure that your hardware is warranted, your subscription properly serviced.
To keep you informed of what is available.

I apologize for how Philsat has cheated us. I will work every day to get the best settlement for continuing your subscriptions possible. I want you to know the whole truth regarding this matter, so we can all make well informed decisions going forward.

I will call everyone by myself in next few days to discuss t

This appears to be correct. The person I am dealing with is trying to sort this mess out at least and its only going to cost me 550rmb for another 6 months subscription. Looks like the person here is not taking their cut for this round of renewing of subscriptions! Maybe trying to build up a customer base by offering good customer service for once.

Be careful there are two people trying to deal with this situation. One is offering a NEW SATELLITE/CABLE SERVICE and thses people are the bottom feeders. The other is offering a discount and renew your Dream Subscription for 6 or 12months.

I will stick with the person who is trying to be honest and straight with me.

yes, there are several threads already on this subject. My Dream tv dropped out on Saturday, but my real estate agent organised to get it back working by Monday night.
