Printing a book?

Postby willing_light » Thu Mar 27, 2008 4:50 pm

Sorry if this has been covered before but my search of the forums didn't yield any really useful links.
I have a collection of writing (various contributers) that I would like to get printed...quickly (rough or finished copy printed in a week?). Any suggestions? Comments on quality orpricing? Thanks in advance!

Bump and edit... The book I want to print can be hard cover or soft cover. I'm pretty sure this can be done at a Kinkos but I'd rather have a better option. :-) Thanks again.

How many books do you want? Most of the printing factories that I know probably wouldn't bother with less than 1000 copies. The number of pages, the quality of paper, and the type of binding will make a difference in the price.

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking at a small run...200 or less. I guess I'll try Kinkos. I was just hoping for something a bit nicer, it's no big deal. Thanks again

You could try a site like Lulu, http://www.lulu.com/ , but I think you'd probably end up paying more. Of course, if you only need 200 copies for people, you could always make them buy a copy of it. :D

thanks for the website...checking it now. The 200 or so copies wil definitely be sold...I need to get a "show piece" first though so I need to find a printer willing to do 1 copy with the option for more. =) Thanks again for the help!
