Looking to hear punk (garage, grind, etc) music in Shanghai. I am from California and my influences are Bad Brains, Wasted youth, Ghastly ones, Mummies, Earth Crisis, drop dead, dk etc.

Any live clubs, warehouses or leads to see would be great!

They look more pop than punk. What the hell is "pop punk"? An oxymoron if ever I heard one.

Blink182, Green day, etc... That's pop punk

Oh yeah, there were some joints in Hongkou that had punk and metal shows. I went to a few good shows there. I can't remember the name, but you can try a search of the site for Metal

March 15th at LiveBar there are like eight bands playing or something ridiculous. One of them I saw last night, they were punk and I thought they were good.

But the REAL reason to come to this show is to see the Shanghai return of 24 hour party people. This Xi'an garage/post-punk/dance rock/whatever they call themselves band is out of this world stellar. Miss it at your own risk.
