Quality Liquor Store in Shanghai

Can anyone recommend a good liquor store in Shanghai selling top shelf liquors? I am recently moved to the Jing'an district, and I need to stock my liquor cabinet.

check out the Walmart at wujiaochang. HUGE selection.

Watch out for fake booze.

Carrefour or Metro would be my choice. No guarantee that what they sell is real but you have a better chance if you buy from a big intl chain.

Friendship store near Shanghai Mart might be OK.

City is overpriced.

Where is Metro? I am assuming that the above mentioned Walmart's are one and the same? I had figured that Jiu Guang would have decent liquor, but no.....

Wal-mart in Pudong, has a large wine/liquor variety. Also Local alcohol as well, entire row on "rice wine", which means all foreigners avoid. They also have a good amount of various beer. Their French Wine is actually not that bad, had a few bottles which tasted legit. Stay away from the chinese wine, Dynasty, Changyu, Great wall, Changyu tastes like they added sugar water of some kind in it.

The Walmart at Wujiaochang is in Puxi, in Yangpu. lots of good gin, vodka, rum, beer, sake, etc.

It seems Walmart is well stocked. Carrefour also has a few top shelf brands, although the selection has dimished over the years. City is decent, but you will pay a premium. While only a mid-level vodka, Absolut prices at Ikea are acceptable... a good place to stock up on quantity if in the area because taxis are readily available.

What kind of "top-shelf" stuff are you looking for? Carrefour Zhongshan Park is the closest. Lotus Supermarket in Lujiazui is the cheapest I've seen so far. However, in both those places, you'll be stuck with the "popular" brands.

Lotus - Didn't have it, but Black Label for 200
Liquor Store under Jiu Guang - 115 (very limited selection)
Carrefour - 115

Where can I get not just the big names like Hennessy and Walker but smaller producers like Flor de Cana rum, Rittenhouse rye, St. Germain liqueur?

For the largest selection of Spirits & Wines i would say it has to be Metro, Especially their Head office branch in Putuo district (Zhenbei Road / Meichaun Road Junction), From Jing'an temple around 8Km - No Subway nearby so has to be a Taxi.

After reading the thread asking if I drink too much, it has shaken and stirred me a little so I need to stock up the booze cabinet at home, has anybody used Shanghai 9 as I had a look at their site and their prices were pretty competitive.
