Reading in Shanghai is not that hard

Postby zeamon » Fri Nov 14, 2008 3:33 pm

hi there, i am a local resident who love reading. im told many of you have a hard time buying books down here in Shanghai. some even finds it hard to get somebody to talk with like the old time back at home.

In fact, i understand it is like impossible to really get into another culture (in this case, it's of eastern and western difference). You might not have a friend, i mean bossom friends, yet of course you would survive.

but i say, instead of going to brain-bombing night clubs or attending so-called culture-exchange parties, trying to be nice but be in fact defensive and vigilant all the time, why not give yourself a break, go grab an original book who speaks the word you speak, who thinks the way you think, who cares about the stuff you really care about....

reading -- is, i trust, everyone's basic needs, esp for someone who is out of his hometown.

im joey by the way, am glad to be friends. besides, if you need buy a book at like ten or twenty yuan, i'd be willing to help as long as the book does exist for sure.

you may drop a line at zeamonsh@hotmail.com for the title on your mind. welcome open topics of all kinds of course....

take care my friend. be good in shanghai.
