Recommend a place for the 3rd Brasa Chicken

Postby brasachicken » Wed Dec 09, 2009 9:23 am

Dear all, we are looking for our 3rd location. Our 2nd location will be in Lujiazui. Can you recommend an area and tell us why Brasa will be good for that area. The key for us is to have 5 locations asap to be able to deliver to everyone on time everytime.

New Originality Street across the walking bridge from the Science and Technology museum ... delivery wise it is central to several major apartment compounds without the traffic hassles from Luijiazui. Walk-in/take away it is also within easy walking distance of Line 2 metro and the street itself is increasing in popularity especially during weekends... Yes there is a BBQ chicken place already but it rarely seems busy and isn't very tasty...

Huangpu! Cuz I live there!!!

+ expo foot traffic...

+ theres very few western restaurants that would be competing with Brasa (affordable good non-asian food) in the area I'm at (xizang nan lu zhongshan nan lu)... Actually none that I know of but I just got here a few months ago so I'm still exploring

+ there's actually quite a few expats in my compound, and my co-worker lives at one down the street, so I'm fairly certain there's enough of a non-chinese consumer base willing to shell out the cash for chicken (not that chinese wont... but lets be honest, foreigners are where the regular cash most likely is)

+ Line 4 and Line 8 intersection makes it easy for people to get to if they want to eat in but aren't on line 1/2, especially in the north east

How specific do we need to be with location? you want me to get you an address??

I'll let you run it out of my place in exchange for free chicken :D

Dagu Lu. A huge expat community on your doorstep. Plenty of offices around for lunchtime trade. A string of good restaurants that already attract large crowds. Oh, and I've just moved there!

Dagu Lu for sure, that gets my vote as well.

1) Huge apartment complex and office buildings right there

2) People often visit there for DVDs and massages.... so whilst they're there they'll look for a place to eat too

3) No competition - the other places are small Chinese restaurants, Italian and Thai restaurants. It'll be the ONLY place on Dagu (and surrounding area) that serves quick non-dining-style food if people want takeaway or a fast meal. Also very price competitive as the restaurants people go to on Dagu are far pricier.

DAGU LU !!

Agree with everything Missbeverly said. We're on Dagu Lu at least twice a week and still haven't found a consistent, healthy and fair-priced restaurant. Dagu Lu does have a pretty good Japanese restaurant towards the overpass side, but it's crazy expensive!

I know, in my building alone, you would get at least 7-8 regular customers! Multiply that by 30x apartment buildings and office buildings around here.

Certainly don't want to ruin the party.

But seeing a new place growing that fast always makes me wary. Even if you do all the prep in a centralized Kitchen and then just deliver the Outlets. It will be really hard to maintain quality standards and supervise operations in the outlets.

I think this is a typical Eduardo Problem. He opens so many places so fast that most of them are starting to drop in quality & standards a few months after opening.

Delivering Food is never easy. And it only gets more difficult the faster you grow and the bigger you are.

There's Munchies and Wagas...and, for the unfussy, KFC, McDonald's and Burger King. And I'm not living there anymore so not Jing'an Temple please! But, seriously, loads of little cheap Chinese places around there which might prove stiff competition, on price at least.

Zhong shan park area. Cheap rent, zero competition, plenty of expat buildings to service.

1. Huangpu area... just around Xin Tian Di.

There are lots of crap places in XTD, time for some good food at decent prices. Plus lots of expat round that area not to mention all the offices along huai hai rd.

Xujiahui, either by Golden Gateway or Metro City - always full of shoppers, lots of offices around the corner on Nandan and Tianmi (something like that - i cant spell it right) road, and from what i hear from friends working in that area, there is always room for more as restaurants are usually packed with the large amount of shoppers and office workers there!

Plus you have a lot of foreigners living in the various residental compounds in that area on nandan, hongqiao road, so you will get quite a lot of home deliveries there along with the offices, i see element fresh staff always making delivers to oriental metropolis which too is within that area.
Little birdie in the sky, dropped a poopie in my eye, i didn't scream, i didn't cry, but i thanked god that cows can't fly....
