I'll be looking for a 3 bedroom apartment in the Jing-An area around 5-6000 RMB a month. Does anyone know a good real estate agent or company to work with?

For this budget it is best just to have a wonder around the area you want to live in and walk into an agency. Some agencies are good, some are terrible - just be very firm about what you want and give them a chance to show you if they are good or not, if not just walk down the street until you find another.

Best to take a chinese speaking friend with you....oh and plenty of patience, I looked at 20 plus places until I found something suitable.

Well, I did have a look last month and got burned rather badly by a TERRIBLE agent/agency, which is why I'm looking for recommends. I figure it's better to go down this trail than try to blaze my own. Any rec's would be truly appreciated.
