So, I'm investigating re-locating to Oz within the next few months, due to a job position thats become avaliable... but I'm having a bit of an issue trying to find a way to ship my belongings.

When I came to china, I had three suitcase full of stuff, and whilst I do now have a little more, its not so much on top. However all the companies I've contacted recently regarding shipping belongs have quoted me hideous prices (I mean 20,000rmb+), and with larger volumes (4m3 minimum) to move not much more than what I stated there.

Obviously, I could take it via plane, but I have a road bike I'd like to keep, so overall would be looking at around 3-4boxes plus bike.

Does anyone have any good dealings with shipping companies going this route? or am I resigned to paying through the nose to get my stuff out properly with minimal hassle?

Oz + Road Bike = Heaven. I have no advice on your shipping matter as I brought one suitcase over here from Oz haha, But kudos for making sure the bike goes with you

haha, actually, it's a single speed flipper... but it's brilliant, love it, and I know that elsewhere in the world it'll be way more expensive, so it goes with me!!

I am wondering if to look at shipping the e-bike as well... but arranging tax, insurance etc is hassle I could do without!

Honestly, why not just call the different airlines and get a quote from them? It could be arranged to go on the same flight when you depart.

Moving from Oz to China, I used this company called "Pack and Send" (www.packsend.com.au) -- they have locations all over Oz. For 10 boxes by sea shipping (which took 3 weeks), I paid 600-700 AUD (don't remember the exact number). May be you can ask Pack and Send who their China shipping agent is.

Not sure if they ship from China but they did really good deals on part container load from Malaysia to Australia. Might check them out.
